What we want in a space
We’re looking for a space to call our own. We have a simple list.
Most importantly, we need a large open area for creative collaboration, preferrably with a good amount of natural light.
We would like to have a significant degree of control over the space. If there’s carpet, we may rip it up. W’ll definitely spill something on it. We’ll be hanging things from the walls and the ceiling – and that may mean a few new holes.
We need at least one bathroom – but probably two, if public events are a possibility.
The space should have all utilities – power, lights, plumbing, heating, cooling, gas, etc.
We need some place for a desk and a chair.
Parking (for cars, bicycles, motorcycles, and whatever else) is also important.
Finally, the space needs to be secure. We want to feel safe while working, at ease while storing art and projects in the space, and we want our guests to feel safe.
We don’t have any money yet. But we’re looking for that, too. As soon as we’re filed with the state, we will start an account, and work to raise money.
