Be a part of history: help paint the Great Wall of Topeka
On my way back from lunch, I saw movement near the Chesney Neighborhood’s Great Mural Wall and found mural artist KT Walsh (Lawrence KS) with two assistants, Ashley Laird (Chords & Oil) and Sam Hupp (Unitard Magazine) mid-paint.
If you haven’t been by lately, it has grown immensely, with focus now on filling the south side expanse. I’m still trying to catch artist Dave Lowenstein working on the mural—I missed him all last summer—but there’s still a lot of time and whitespace to fill so I’m not giving up yet.

I’ve posted pictures on the TSCPL Flickr site of recent progress here.
BREAKING NEWS: This Saturday (15th) and Sunday (16th) from 12 – 5 PM, the Topeka community is once again invited to come over and help fill in Dave’s drawings with color. It is also the 100th Anniversary of neighboring neighborhood, Elmhurst, so Happy Centennial!
