Gourds & Soil update

We planted stuff this weekend!  Head over to 19th and Fillmore, and have a look.

Broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, lettuce, radishes, spinach. We’ll be making some wicked-good salads in about 90 days.

Maybe we’ll landscape the garden – complete with xeriscaping, pathways between the plots, native wildflowers, and rainwater collection.

We have also updated the Gourds & Soil Google Map to include all of Topeka’s community gardens.  If you know of another, let us know!

    Hello,
    I am with Kid’s Co-op we are a Preschool and Kindergarten school located at 4316 N. Decatur Blvd. in Las Vegas, NV. I submitted a grant last month for the Pepsi Refresh Project in the $25,000 category. I do not know if we are in the running for votes until May 1st but our application was accepted. If we are both in the running for next month, I was wondering if you would like to partner up? Our organization will vote for your cause and you will vote for ours? Let me know and we can work out the details.

    Michelle,

    We have ceased to seriously pursue our application on the Pepsi Refresh Project. However, our group would certainly support your cause. I suggest you “like” our page on Facebook, and post a link to your grant. I am sure you will garner some votes that way!
